Kathmandu, Tilak Bahadur Batala is a dedicated Nepalese social activist and development practitioner with a strong commitment to advancing social justice, inclusion, and community empowerment. As the Founder and President of Aina Foundation, he has been actively leading initiatives that address the needs of underprivileged communities across Nepal through education, advocacy, and capacity-building programs. His work emphasizes inclusive development, youth engagement, and the protection of vulnerable populations.

Mr. Batala holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BASW) from Saraswati Multiple Campus, completed in 2023, with a focus on Social Work and English. His academic foundation is complemented by extensive practical experience in community development, organizational leadership, and program management.

In his current role at Aina Foundation, he oversees strategic planning, program implementation, and stakeholder engagement. He actively networks with national organizations, donor agencies, and social actors to strengthen collaborative efforts. Under his leadership, the foundation has implemented impactful campaigns addressing child marriage, menstrual health awareness, disaster risk reduction, and youth empowerment. He also plays a key role in counseling and supporting children from marginalized backgrounds while coordinating educational and vocational initiatives.
Previously, Mr. Batala founded and served as Chairperson of the Saraswati Society of Social Work (SSSW), where he led youth-focused programs, advocacy campaigns, and institutional collaborations. His leadership ensured effective program delivery and strengthened networks among social work professionals and organizations.

He also served as a Supervisor Officer at Down Syndrome Society Nepal from 2020 to 2023, where he contributed to policy development, administrative management, and program coordination. His work included organizing training programs, facilitating workshops on disability rights and inclusion, supporting parents and caregivers, and promoting inclusive education. He has been actively involved in publishing accessible materials and raising awareness about Down syndrome at both national and community levels.

In addition to his organizational roles, Mr. Batala is an active writer and columnist, contributing to various national media platforms on issues such as disability rights, social inequality, education, and community development. His research and publications reflect his commitment to evidence-based advocacy and public awareness.

Mr. Batala possesses strong competencies in leadership, report writing, strategic planning, communication, and conflict resolution. His ability to mobilize communities, manage teams, and build partnerships has enabled him to create meaningful social impact. Driven by a vision of an equitable and inclusive society, he continues to inspire positive change through his work and leadership in Nepal’s social development sector.
